Dr. Vish Anand is a Tutor at Sterling Dental College. He qualified as a dentist in 1988 and as a medical doctor in 1997, both from Kings College Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry. He spent 6 months after his initial qualification year in Restorative, Prosthetics and Periodontics at Birmingham Dental Hospital and subsequently, several years in full-time Oro-maxillofacial Surgery.
Vish went on to complete the senior house surgeon General Surgical Oxford rotation including Plastic Surgery, ENT, Orthopaedics, Renal Transplantation, Accident and Emergency and General Surgery including breast surgery, upper and lower gastro-intestinal surgery and vascular surgery.
Vish has been placing dental implants for over 20 years and has taught and lectured on the subject for several years. Whislt being an active member of the Association of Dental Implantologists (ADI), he also ran the Oxfordshire Regional branch of the ADI for some years.
After having built up several implant practice throughout Oxford, London and the Home Counties, he continues to be a proflific implant surgeon with a strong commitment to education. He has been a Clinical Teacher and lecturer on Warwick University’s MSc in Implantology and is a Senior Lecturer in Oral Surgery and Implantology for GIFT (General Implantology – Forum and Training) and also acts as a visiting senior lecturer in Implantology for BPP University.
He is also involved in the aesthetic world having developed a natural interest with his work in maxilla-facial and plastic surgery. The use of Botox and dermal fillers used throughout the body in different clinical situations has not been limited to facial rejuvenation in his experience but can be seen to be a great adjunct to facial and oral reconstruction and his Advanced Training in their usage has helped many patients.
Vish regularly completes an oral surgery list performing all aspects of dento-alveolar surgery. Having completed nearly 20,000 oral surgery cases, he is well-equipped to perform the most advanced and complex reconstruction cases with ease.
The techniques that Vish has mastered over the last 30 years of surgery make treating patients a simple and predictable process. His commitment to passing on these skills and knowledge is why postgraduate candidates are enthusiastic about attending his teaching programmes and surgical workshops.
In his spare time, Dr. Anand teaches Latin American dancing and loves spending time with his wife and three children.
